Katy and Alex’s love story is a decade in the making. Well, almost 10 years. When life threw them a curve ball, they moved their wedding day from their ten year dating anniversary to May 21st. I really, really, really wanted dry skies for them. After one curve ball, I didn’t want them to deal with another “plan b” aka rain plan. Just like the date change, Katy and Alex handled what was out of their hands like total pros, and they had an incredible wedding day, rain and all. More about their wedding following their photos.

Evergreen Museum and Library Wedding

At about 2:00pm I checked my weather app. It was raining to the south, west, east, and north. But not right over Baltimore. I crossed my fingers and headed to the Evergreen Museum for their outdoor first look. We caught a break and stayed dry for the first look, followed by photos under umbrellas when it started to drizzle. After portrait photos we headed to St Ignatius for the ceremony. Family and friends shared smiles throughout the service and the couple sealed the deal with a sweeping dip and kiss. We returned to the Evergreen Museum to celebrate at the Carriage House. The cocktail room boomed with laughter and chatter. Their dinner room was filled with soft romantic lighting and delicate floral centerpieces. Katy thought of every detail, including a signature drink called the black-eyed susan. Before dinner concluded, Katy’s parents shared a dance. It was to their wedding song and when it finished, there wasn’t one single dry eye in the room. Their dance party had a fun 90’s vibe, and I’m pretty sure Alex knows all the lyrics to Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It. The dance floor wasn’t the only place where the action was happening. In the stalls of the Carriage House was a DIY photo booth which was equipped with a life-sized cardboard cut out of the couple. Genius. There was also a corn hole set and delicious dessert spread. Congrats Katy and Alex on a fabulous wedding day celebration!
