You may have heard the story of the women who posted an ad on craiglist looking to rent a family for the Holidays. She posted, ”I am looking to rent a mom and dad who can give me attention and make me feel like the light of their life just for a couple of days because I really need it.”
Or maybe you find yourself saying just as Kevin McCallister did in the movie Home Alone ” This house is so full of people it makes me sick. When I grow up and get married, I’m living alone. Did you hear me? I’m living alone!” But it didn’t take long for the kiddo to realize, it’s family at the core of who we are and we all want a family to make us feel loved and special.
After all Christmas is about a mother and father-to-be on the run, facing hard times, looking for some shelter where they could bring their little miracle into the world.
I spend a great deal of my time photographing weddings and witnessing two people coming together as one family. It is one of the greatest celebrations in life. As awesome and exciting as weddings can be (found out first hand this year!!!), the miracle of life and the bonds of family make for a lifetime of everyday celebrations. So in this holiday season when we celebrate traditions of old while looking forward to a promising new year, I’d like to share some of my favorite photos of family clients from 2013. To all my wedding clients of 2013 Happy 1st Hanukkah, Merry 1st Christmas, and Happy 1st New Year together as a new family. To all my past wedding clients who are expecting in 2014, congrats! And to all of the 2014 and 2015 engaged clients, I can’t wait to see you become a family and then be there to photograph your family as it grows!
