Written by the beautiful Jamie Curry: “When we started to plan our wedding, the one thing we kept saying was we just wanted to have a big party! We wanted all of our guests to come and enjoy themselves, but also make it a special night for us. I think we were able to accomplish that, and it certainly helped that the city of Baltimore had a big party that day with fireworks, jetfighter aircrafts, sailboats and more!
We wanted a venue that would be convenient for our guests, since most of them were coming from out of town. We felt the right area for us and our guests would be the downtown area of Baltimore along the waterfront. Not only for convenience, but also for the picturesque Baltimore Harbor view; there is nothing better! Jamie had taken many exciting trips to the Maryland Science Center as a child, but it had never crossed her mind that it could be her wedding venue one day. We made our first joint visit to the museum after our engagement, and both knew this was the place to have our wedding. The exhibition rooms and museum’s open air concourse were big enough for our guest list, and had the ability to be transformed into elegant spaces for our wedding celebration. Plus who doesn’t want to have dinner next to a dinosaur?!
The night was amazing! Somewhat of a blur, which seems to always be the case when you are the bride and groom, but definitely the party that we wanted. The fireworks were an unexpected wedding day bonus, and we were delighted to watch them from the Maryland Science Center roof top while capturing amazing pictures with the dazzling display. It was the dream wedding we both wanted, complete with the museums attractions like the giant Maryland blue crab and showroom of dinosaurs.”
