My Style

Hello there! I am Rachel, the creator behind Rachel Smith Photography LLC, I like to describe my style as a thoughtful balance between creative and timeless.

Anticipating and capturing moments charged with spontaneity, joy, humor, and magic are the roots of my passion. Finding and manifesting compelling light & compositions is the heart of my creative process.

My Experience

My Experience

2005 was the year I photographed my very first wedding, but my love for creating and journaling with photography began as a child when I was gifted my very own polaroid camera..

A Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in photography has proven useful in pursuing my passion, but nothing compares to the wisdom and experience I have obtained through photographing more than 300 weddings.

A daily dose of Vitamin D is essential to my well being, which is probably why all of my favorites things in life are associated with being outdoors…

If I’m not in the garden or hammock, I’m probably out day tripping somewhere with good vibes and scenery. The most incredible trip I’ve experienced was hiking the Patagonia region and the craziest thing I had in the day pack was my 70-200 lens. It’s as long as my head and by no means a “light load”, but no way could I leave my favorite lens at home! I cannot pass up on collecting a beautiful seashell, rock, or bird feather which have become decor in for my home. Outdoor concerts will always be bookmarks for the best days of the year and good reggae tunes will forever satisfy my soul.

My Loves

My Loves

It’s fitting that I met the love of my life at a wedding. He was the “Best Man” at the wedding, and that is who he will always be to me. That might be the most corny mushy thing I’ve ever said, but it’s true : )

Welcoming our silly Marlee girl into our family rocked our world in the most profound and fullfilling way. Memories took on a whole new level of meaning for me. For example, it’s now hard for me to get through a parent dance without crying happy tears. My conviction about the importance of creating family memories grew 10 fold seeing how each milestone is over in a blink.
