Katie and Peter celebrated their wedding over Memorial weekend on an absolutely picture perfect day. Their wedding took place at the family’s eastern shore retreat in the quaint town of Oxford. Upon arrival, I felt like I was walking onto a movie set. With the help of Kari Rider Events, the family’s waterfront haven was transformed into a magical secret garden soiree. More about their wedding following the photos. Enjoy!
Eastern Shore Oxford Wedding
Not long after I arrived, I heard laughs from the other side of the boxwood wall. I peeked around the corner to find the bridesmaids dabbin’ for a photo. I thought if this is a sign of how the day is going to go, today is going to be a blast. After wedding prep, Katie and Peter met for a first look along the driveway in the shade of the pine trees. Their reactions to seeing each other were overflowing with joy. I had to also share Katie’s maid of honor Elisa’s expression seeing it all go down, priceless! We made our way around the yard, where we stopped for photos with the pool flamingo, Martha. Katie and Peter held a Quaker service as part of their ceremony. It was quite a powerful thing to witness. Part of the service is for family and friends to share thoughts, memories, and/or prayers with the couple. Their outdoor ceremony felt very intimate because of their loved ones opening their hearts. The couple signed their Quaker marriage certificate, which was then signed by their guests as they made their way from the ceremony to the cocktail hour. The wedding reception entertainment was provided by the band Sultans of Swing and holy smokes they rocked!! Before I departed for the night, we grabbed a few magic hour photos on the dock. After which, everyone cut loose in the best kind of way. Congrats Katie and Peter on a wedding beautifully done!
