Herrington on the Bay Wedding- When I arrived for getting ready photos I was greeted by the sweetest Father of the bride. He made sure I was perfectly comfortable and that I felt welcome in their home. What a great way to start the day. As I made my way up the stairs, I heard Ashleigh’s unforgettable laugh. It’s the kind of laugh that brings a smile to your face and makes you want to join in on whatever she is giggling about. Yet again, what a great way to start the day! Arica Gonzalez, my amazing ‘right hand” lady and second photographer helped for a bit with the girls and then headed over to Julian. Before she left, she was advised that Julian would definitely be most excited about getting a photo with their new pup. She did just that, along with capturing some other comical photos of Julian with their two cats. We headed to Herrington on the Bay for the ceremony and reception. Ashleigh’s dear friend Elissa officiated their ceremony and spoke very personally about the couple in a way that only a dear friend could do. It was a beautiful ceremony full of sentiment. The expressions of joy Ashleigh displayed throughout the ceremony were absolutely adorable and when her father Frank gave her away to Julian, I nearly cried over how tenderly he embraced and smiled at her. Their beautiful ceremony was followed by an equally wonderful reception.
Ashleigh and Julian planned an intimate sized wedding with a gathering of their most dearest loved ones. Many of the guests traveled from states and seas afar, which made this guest list all the more special. With Julian being from Wales, The couple incorporated a beautiful Welsh tradition by gifting each guest a set Welsh love spoons. Giving love spoons as a token of affection originated in Wales. This tradition goes all the way back to the 16th century. They originally were given as a courting gift, but over the centuries the tradition has broaden to a gift also appropriate to share with family and friends. Congrats Ashleigh and Julian an your beautiful nuptials!
