Royal Sonesta Harbor Court- “The British are coming; the British are coming!” These were the words shouted by the bridesmaids to kick off Kerry and Mark’s Baltimore and British wedding reception celebration. I was very excited for Kerry and Mark’s wedding day to finally arrive. Since Kerry and Mark live in England, our first meeting had to be via Skype. The irony for me during this international meeting was that Kerry grew up just a few miles down the street from my place in Catonsville. Come their wedding day, we started in Catonsville for wedding day prep and the ceremony which was at St Mark’s Church. Kerry’s father Ed, planted a garden of enchanting wild flowers so Kerry could have a beautiful spot for her wedding day photos. I was instantly obsessed and snapping away in this spot! Before the ceremony I met Mark for the first time in person, and this charming guy looked all the more handsome in his formal english morning suit. Much of their wedding was enveloped in classy english style. Many of the ladies wore lovely hats while table settings included tea cups to hold sunflowers and saucers for table numbers. Guests were even gifted a monogrammed teaspoon and bag of tea. After the ceremony we headed downtown to the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel. A perfect establishment for a Posh English meets Baltimore styled wedding. I especially love the staircase and library at the Royal Sonesta as a photo location. Cocktails, fish and chips, and cornhole were enjoyed on the roof deck. Some other great details from the day included a “something blue” Tiffany locket from Mark to Kerry as a wedding day gift and “TOMS” slip on shoes gifted by Kerry to her bridesmaids. These adorable flats were crucial for kicking it on the dance floor. Kerry’s father also had a great pair of converse chucks painted to stylize the American flag. Not everyone was able to travel from the UK for their wedding, but once again through the power of Skype, Kerry and Mark were able to connect from across the Atlantic. Except this time they were on America soil skyping with loved ones back in the UK. Everyone present for the little online rendezvous gave a royal wedding wave to the family on the other side of the iPad and ocean. How wonderful it is that love and weddings bring everyone together like this! To wrap things up, I’d like to share this quote, “May your love be like a wildflower, growing freely in the beauty and joy of each day.” Cheers the newlyweds!!
