Evergreen Museum Wedding- When planning a wedding you quickly realize you have a ridiculously long check list. A check list so long you may even find yourself with a three ring binder to keep all of your “to dos” in order. With the help of Lemon & Lime Event Design, Katie and Rick at last made their way through this crazy long check list. But the day before the wedding Katie realized she never checked off the tradition of having something blue for her wedding day. So Rick went out that night and bought Katie a beautiful necklace with a blue gemstone. Katie wrapped this wonderful token of thoughtfulness around her bouquet which brought every last detail together on their wedding day.
When Rick reached out to me about photographing his wedding, a flood of memories started rushing through my mind. Rick and I met 14 years ago…Gasp are we really that old! It’s been some time since we last hung out, but in those years he did well for himself finding a catch like Katie. Katie’s quick-witted sense of humor is a great match for Rick and his occasional antics, like when their first kiss as husband and wife was followed with a high five.
I loved Katie’s Essense of Australia wedding gown that she picked up from Betsy Robinson’s Bridal Collection and Divine Design & Events did an amazing job with all the floral pieces. But my favorite creative detail was their “Jenga blocks” guest book. I hope there was a balance of sentimental comments to the layer of wise cracks written by I’m sure Rick’s finest group of fellows. However it turned out, I’m sure it will be an entertaining game you can pull out when you are in the mood to reminisce. Congrats Rick and Katie, never stop laughing together!
